What Receipts reads
Receipts reads your Screenshots album — nothing else. With "all photos" permission the app still only touches screenshots; with limited access you pick the screenshots yourself and everything else works the same.
Where it happens
- All reading — OCR, details, answers — runs on your iPhone with on-device frameworks.
- Screenshots are never uploaded, never sent to our servers, never shared unless you tap send and pass one to someone yourself.
- Deleting the app deletes everything it read. There is no cloud copy to erase.
What we collect
- On this website: anonymous visit counts via Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking). Product analytics may be added for signups and purchases; that plan is opt-in and listed here before it ships.
- In the app: nothing leaves the device. Anonymous usage counts (features used, not content) may be relayed through our API worker; screenshots and their text are never part of it.
- Hosted inference (off by default): for older phones, a server-side fallback may answer asks using extracted text/details only — never the image. It is disabled until announced, and this page will say so if it turns on.
What we never do
- No accounts, no email required.
- No ads, no ad networks, no selling or renting your data.
- No screenshots in the cloud — yours or a copy.
Payments
Purchases go through the App Store. We see that a subscription or lifetime purchase happened — never your card or Apple ID details.
Your choices
- Grant limited Photos access and hand-pick screenshots — full features still work.
- Turn off Photos access anytime in iOS Settings; the app stops reading immediately.
- Delete the app to remove all on-device data.
Keep the receipts — keep them to yourself. That's the point of the product and the policy.
If this policy changes, this page changes first. Last updated October 3, 2026.
